Après avoir considéré toutes les options, les organisateurs d’equissima® ont pris avec grand regret la décision de ne pas mettre sur pied l’édition 2020 de leur événement en septembre prochain. La santé et la sécurité du public comme des cavaliers, des exposants, des officiels et des bénévoles sont des priorités absolues qui ne sauraient être remises en question.
Les normes de sécurité sanitaires établies à ce jour dans le cadre de la pandémie du Coronavirus auront eu raison de l’enthousiasme et de la motivation du Comité d’organisation d’equissima®. La gestion de trois sites de compétitions différents (arène principale, parcours de cross-country et stade de voltige), entraînant notamment de lourdes mesures d’hygiène et de distanciation, rend impossible la bonne tenue des compétitions, tant d’un point de vue du public que des concurrents, et ne permettra pas la convivialité qui fait aussi le succès de la manifestation.
«A l’heure actuelle, toutes les compétitions nationales et internationales de concours complet sont arrêtées et ne devraient pas reprendre avant la mi-juillet, explique Marc-Henri Clavel, président du Comité d’organisation. En septembre prochain, cavaliers et chevaux n’auront donc pas l’entraînement et les conditions idéales de préparation pour participer à une compétition du niveau d’equissima®, son parcours de cross-country étant reconnu comme exigeant. Sans compter que les cavaliers internationaux préféreront sans doute privilégier les concours nationaux et rester dans leur pays.»
Il n’a pas non plus été possible de repousser la décision finale à cet été. L’organisation d’une manifestation de l’envergure d’equissima® exige en effet des prestations à réaliser bien en amont et qui sont inévitablement soumises au respect de nombreux délais. A titre d’exemple, la construction du parcours de cross-country dans la Plaine de Mauvernay est à concevoir de toute pièce et nécessite plusieurs mois de travail.
Le comité d’organisation d’equissima® tient cependant à remercier vivement tous ses sponsors, exposants, officiels et bénévoles de leur compréhension et de leur soutien dans sa difficile décision.
L’édition 2021 n’en sera que plus belle, avec notamment la tenue du CCI 3*-S European Cup, du 2 au 5 septembre, une compétition par équipe qui verra s’affronter à Lausanne les plus grandes nations européennes de concours complet.

After considering all the available options, the organizers of equissima® have taken, with great regret, the decision not to host the 2020 edition of their event this coming September. The health and safety of the public as well as the riders, the exhibitors, the officials and the volunteers, are top priorities that cannot be questioned.
The health and safety standards established to date in the context of the Coronavirus pandemic will have won out over the enthusiasm and motivation of the equissima® organizing committee. The management of three different competition sites (main arena, cross-country course and Vaulting stadium), requesting particular heavy hygiene and distancing measures, make the running of the event impossible, both from a public and competitors point of view, and will also not favor the conviviality which is a key ingredient of the success of the event.
«Currently, all national and international Eventing competitions have been cancelled and should not resume before mid-July,» said Marc-Henri Clavel, President of the organizing committee. Next September, riders and horses will therefore not have the requested training and ideal preparation conditions to participate in a competition of equissima® level, its cross-country course being recognized as demanding. Not to mention that international riders will no doubt prefer to favor national competitions and stay in their country. ”
It was also not possible to postpone the final decision to this summer. Organizing an event of the scale of equissima® requires services to be provided well in advance and which are inevitably subject to compliance with numerous deadlines. For example, the construction of the cross-country course in the “Plaine de Mauvernay” requires several months of preparatory work.
The equissima® organizing committee would like to thank all of its sponsors, exhibitors, officials and volunteers for their understanding and support in this difficult decision.
The 2021 edition will be all the more beautiful, with in particular the holding of the CCI 3 * -S European Cup, from September 2 to 5, a team competition which will see the best European Eventing nations competing in Lausanne .
